WILD & FREE RETREAT

Summer Solstice 2025

Hartland, Devon

19-22 June 2025

Your invitation to inspiration, rest, and powerful growth.

Make room for joy, exploration and your desires.

Spend the weekend in wild spaces, claiming what you really want.

This is where the solstice magic is...

Hey! We are Rosie & Becky, your retreat guides.

Between us we’ve supported hundreds of people to uncover their desires, articulate their needs, and develop their confidence. Our clients have done things that they never dreamed possible, and slowly unravelled the expectations that society has set for them to redefine what success looks like for themselves.

We get it, we’ve been senior managers, we’ve stared at screens too long, we’ve made scary career changes, we’ve had our worlds thrown upside down by life events, we’ve moved countries and continents to pursue our dreams, we’ve lost ourselves in the needs of others, and we’ve slowly crawled back out the other side to rediscover who we are now, and forge a new path.

We’re here to listen, to play, and help you light that fire in your gut for what you want in life right now. We’ll support you to step away from the hustle and the productivity grindstone. And to relax and let go of having all the answers today.

This is the fourth Wild and Free retreat and we cannot wait to welcome you, to dream, swim, walk, do yoga together and mark the summer solstice.

We’ll be talking about dreams/fears/ambition/ease/joy. We’ll be pushing our comfort zones, getting vulnerable, and practising being silent, unbound, present, self-compassionate and full of possibility.

Sound amazing? Grab a ticket and we’ll see you in June!

When?

Thursday 20th - Sunday 22nd June 2025. It's the Summer Soltice weekend, the longest night of the year and a good time to make magic happen.

Arrive whenever you want and go for a wander. Retreat space opens at 4pm and we’ll be kicking off our first session at 6pm. The retreat activities finish after breakfast on Sunday, checkout is at 10am. It’s all super laidback and flexible in between.

Where?

A farmhouse and cottage by the sea
We are in an airy and welcoming cottage and farmhouse in Devon, with sea views from the upstairs windows, wood burners and open fireplaces and a walk to the beach for wild swimming. We’ll have the run of the place.

Workshop venue
Our group coaching activities and yoga will take place in the barn space, which has a wood burner if it gets cold (we know it's June, but this is the UK!).

Gathering spaces
A south facing sitting room offers an open fireplace, long dining table, lots of books and an old piano. The cottage kitchen has french doors which open out onto the garden and gorgeous sunsets, while a further south facing yellow sitting room has a wood burner, board games and cosy nooks for curling up with a good book. The larger farmhouse kitchen offers a lovely table for prepping food, a walk-in pantry and space for cups of tea and putting the world to right.

The great outdoors
There is a large south-facing garden to the rear and a smaller west-facing garden with sea views. We're twenty-minutes walk down to the beach and surrounded by gorgeous countryside for walking.

Here are some pictures of the venue:

FAQs
  • Do I need to be super fit?
This is an active outdoor and yoga retreat, and you will need to be responsible for your own wellbeing and fitness. You don’t need to be super fit. We go at your pace and it’s a very mixed group in terms of physical ability. If you can walk for four hours with frequent breaks you’ll be fine. We are planning one walk which includes some ups and downs along the coastal path. Yoga is optional, but is designed for a mix of abilities. Becky is also qualified as a postpartum and pregnancy yoga teacher and so can adapt to where your body is at. If you’ve got particular aches or pains, let us know. If in doubt, drop us a line.
  • Who is this for?
Any self-identifying woman or nonbinary folk who are comfortable in an environment that centres women, who want some time away, in nature with like-minded peers to rediscover what brings joy. Last year we welcomed a range of people, aged mid twenties to sixty+, mothers and non-mothers, different sexual orientations and ethnicities. We strive to make the retreat a welcoming space, and at the same time recognise our own biases and hold space for people to show up in all their messy humanity.
  • What is your cancellation policy?
Once you’ve paid you are responsible for filling your place if you can’t make it for any reason. We’ll allow a substitution with two weeks notice.
  • What’s the venue like?
We’ve got exclusive hire of a small-holding on the Hartland penninsula in North Devon. The cottage and farmhouse are not luxury 5 star hotels, but they simple, beautiful and cosy.

There are some double rooms, and a range of single and shared rooms which will be assigned based on need. There are three bathrooms, which are shared. Bedding is provided but you’ll need to bring a towel.

There is one large farmhouse kitchen and a second smaller kitchen in the cottage, alongside two living rooms and a large barn space for workshop activities.
  • It looks amazing but how on earth do I get there?
We picked this venue because it's remote. We know that the sea air, the stars, the feeling of being away from it all can help shift blocks. Not to mention the fact that it's beautiful and the hedgerows will be full of roses and honeysuckle at this time of year. But, we appreciate remote can present a challenge when it comes to travel. So we are on hand to make it easy.

The easiest public transport route from London is to catch a train from London Paddington to Exeter St David's (2-hours, 30-minutes) then on to Barnstaple (1-hour, 10-minutes) from where you can get a taxi to Hartland (40-minutes). Included in your price is the cost of a shared taxi from Barnstaple at 4pm on the Thursday and back at 10am on the Sunday.

We know some of you will be driving, so in our pre-retreat call and Whatsapp group, we’ll also be connecting you up for rideshares – a great chance to split petrol costs and get to know each other enroute.

For those jetsetters arriving from abroad, Heathrow is your easiest airport. You can then take the brand, swanky new Elizabeth line to Paddington station - no need to buy a ticket, just swipe your credit card at the ticket gate – it takes 30-minutes. Or, if you’re short on time, you can pick up the Heathrow Express, which whizzes you to Paddington in a speedy 15-minutes. If you’re coming from elsewhere and are battling logistics, don’t do it alone, reach out and we’ll try our best to help.
  • Will I have to share a room?
There are three more luxuriuous rooms with double beds, which come at a higher price, but ensure sanctuary and comfort.

The other bedrooms have single beds and some are shared, so you could be one of up to three roommates. All the rooms are comfortable, cosy and clean and this can obviously be the perfect excuse to grab a friend and make a weekend of it together. It’s also an opportunity to make some new buddies.
  • Will I be lonely if I come on my own?
Whether you’re travelling solo or with friends, everyone is welcome. In previous years we’ve had lots of single folks, who’ve left with new connections and allies. Our pre-call gives you an opportunity to meet ahead of time and we design the weekend to be inclusive, supportive and to foster a sense of community, while also respecting that sometimes you might be craving a bit of solitude.
  • I’m not very bendy and have never done yoga, can I still join?
All our activities are optional, whether it’s windswept walks, sea swimming or candlelit yoga. You don’t have to be bendy to do yoga, but there will be an opportunity to share your yoga experience and preferences beforehand so Becky can tailor the yoga classes to the needs of the group.
  • What’s the deal with food?
Wholesome, simple and delicious. We offer nourishing meals and snacks throughout the retreat. We expect setting the table, food preparation, and clearing up after meals to be part of how we build our community and connect with each other, so we ask everyone to muck in and get involved.
  • I've got another question, how do I contact you?
We’d love to chat anything through. Drop us an email and we can set up a time.
